What is the nature of evil?

I don't think people are naturally evil. it's just what you call evil. There's a dark side in everyone, so it's just whenever and however it comes forward. Some people are getting "evil" when life is to hard on them or they are striving for some goal they think everything is allowed to reach that goal. Like in the holy wars. People say they fight because of others not believing in god. Then again, god is supposed to be love. So where is the love in this. Forcing people to believe in that almighty loving god? Seems not very loving to me.

A person who can legitimately be called evil is one who is determined to do bad things with the full belief and understanding that they are bad things, and who could choose not to do these things but does them anyway. Such a person doesn't use rationalizations to justify his or her acts. For example, this isn't wrong for me to do because.... Which makes no excuses either to himself or others. That is an evil person, and the only word that I can think of that would describe him or her would be "monster."

The informal tone weakens the argument. A lot of overgeneraliztions and cliche arguments makes this logically faulty.
